Teaching Jobs in Florida

One of the strongest industries in Florida is the field of education. So for those who would like to become involved in the most noblest of professions which is teaching, Florida is the right place for you.

However, before you embark on your journey to becoming a teacher, there are some requirements that you need to fulfill. In case you have already graduated from a state-approved teacher preparation program, next would be passing three parts of the Florida Teacher Certification Examination or FTCE. Just remember, if you haven’t finished any approved teacher preparation program or let’s say you have finished an approved but an education program which is out of Florida then you won’t be able to get a Temporary Teaching Certificate. Don’t panic though there are still ways for you to pursue your dream of working as a teacher in Florida.

If you already have a Level II certificate which was issued in another US state or territory and the subjects that appear on your certificate bear similarities to subjects which have been issued in Florida then you can be considered for an equivalent certificate. Or if what you have instead is a legitimate National Board certificate with subjects that can be compared with the subjects in Florida then this means you can also qualify for a similar teaching certificate.

Just remember there are many schools looking for aspiring teachers. In fact there’s a critical shortage of teachers in Florida especially in the areas of science, math, foreign languages and reading. So if you really want to teach, you can’t go wrong with Florida.
